As time for flight normally around late morning, transfer to Kathmandu International Airport. A sweeping scenic flight in Druk Air or similar on a bigger aircraft facing panorama of Himalayan peaks. Includes views of Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Makalu and Cho-Oyu, as the flight heads beyond Nepal and across Tibet. Then landing at Bhutan’s International Airport in Paro, after going through visa and passport check at the immigration.
Then head outside the airport terminal, where our native Bhutanese guide and driver will receives you with traditional welcome. A short drive to the hotel at Paro, one of the largest town after Thimphu the capital.
In Paro, having time for stroll around the market and streets lined with fancy traditional shops and restaurants.
Morning after breakfast in respective hotels, our native guide will take you on a pleasant walk with short drive. Then hike on steep uphill to famous old Tasking Monastery, popularly called the “Tiger's Nest”.
In early days, an isolated place for retreats and meditation of many Buddhist monks, high priest of Tibet and Bhutan. This amazing wonderful monastery located in an overhanging rocky cliff. Facing great views of Paro town and snow-capped peaks. From here downhill and short drive to visit the 17th century Ta-Dzong, later converted into the National Museum in 1967. Afternoon free at leisure for stroll around Paro shops and markets.
Another day in Paro, a major town of Bhutan after Thimphu with historical and cultural background. The guide leads you for a full day tour of Paro visiting the ruined fort. It was built to commemorate the victory over Tibetan invaders in 17th century. After an impressive tour of Druk Gyaldzong, afternoon having lunch. An interesting tour of Bhutan’s National Museum displaying rich collections of ancient treasures with fine arts and weapons. From here back to hotel at Paro for rest, on completing a wonderful days around Paro.
Morning after breakfast depart for Bhutan capital city to Thimphu, after a wonderful moments at Paro. An interesting short and scenic drive of few hours, heading past lovely countryside, dotted with farm villages.
The drive then enters the capital town of Bhutan at Thimphu, an interesting town and a small city without any traffic lights. All traffic are controlled by traffic police with a whistle blow, on reaching Thimphu transfer into a nice hotels having traditional style rooms. Rest of the day enjoy a stroll around the streets of Thimphu, a nice way to observe the local activities and cultures.
After a pleasant overnight and having good breakfast our guide will take you on a tour to visit a memorial stupa. Includes visit of indigenous hospital, where traditional medicine is still practiced and the painting school. On a full day tour around Thimphu visiting following places of great cultural and historical interest.
The Buddha Dordenma: The 51 m / 168 feet tall statue of Buddha Dordenma a statue completely built of steel with a gold plated above. The best time to visit this is at night when the moonlight falls on this massive statue that glitters full of charm and beauty.
The Memorial Chorten: The Memorial Chorten which is also called as Thimphu Chorten. The tallest monument in Thimphu. It is one of the prominent landmarks of the city with golden spires and bells. Folk Heritage Museum of Thimphu: The Museum flaunts all kinds of folk Heritage of the country under one roof. An interesting place of Bhutan’s history and folktales.
Having an enjoyable stay in Thimphu, morning drive back to Paro with tour of Simtokh Dzong. The fort built in 1927-29 AD by King Shabdung Ngawang Namgyal, who unified the Kingdom of Bhutan. After a pleasant drive and interesting moment on route reaching Paro, with time for another short tour of Paro visit of Fort ‘Simtokh Dzong’.
As time for flight back to Kathmandu or connecting with other Indian cities, the guide transfers you to Paro international airport. Then bid farewell to Bhutanese guide, drivers and then enter the air-terminal for sweeping flight back to Kathmandu. On arrival at Kathmandu airport transfer to your hotels, rest of the day at leisure for individual activities.
